beginners course
No previous experience of family history research required, just lots
of enthusiasm!
Covers all the basics to get you started:

- Birth, Marriage, Death indexes
- Parish Records
- Wills
- Surname origins
- Military records
- Family Tree software
Lots of opportunity to follow your own research in a friendly, helpful atmosphere.
10 week next steps course - following the success of my beginners course, most learners want to carry on developing their skills. The Next Steps course has been developed to support learners with their individual research needs and explore a wider range of sources - trade directories; records of pauper ancestors; tracing black sheep and elusive ancestors such as 'unknown' fathers of illegitimate children. Next steps also includes a visit to a local archive.
Please note that basic computer skills are required as the courses include use of Internet resources and software to organise and display your findings.
